Humayun's Tomb | Delhi

Our very last stop in Delhi and it's a Taj-like tomb - surprise, surprise!

Humayun's tomb is the tomb of Mughal emperor Humayun . . . which you'd never have guessed from the name. It was built between 1565 and 1572 after being commissioned by Humayun's son. The tomb was the first garden-tomb of the Indian subcontinent and in 1993 was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Theres also another tomb on the complex belonging to Isa Khan Niyazi. Niyazi's tomb predates Humayun's by 20 years, and if you're wondering who he is, he was an Afghan noble who fought against the Mughals.

Apologies for the sparse post today, I'm just off out to explore Bangkok and I promise to do another newsletter asap!
